Progress was made today, the wind was light and the temperature pleasant. Mr. Birt had a full crew today and they did some heavy lifting.

In the overview picture, whats the deal with the little triangle patios? How come the terrace doesn't wrap around the corner? Is the terrace going to have a floor other than concrete that will attach them all?
ReplyDeleteThe bumpout on the west side is the breakfast niche, and there is a small covered porch there protecting that west door into the kitchen. This will be the way to the herb garden and the summer kitchen. It's also where Jacob's handprints are located. At the Terrace, the triangle is the fireplace chimney, shaped like the breakfast niche, and the summer kitchen, which has a trellis instead of a roof. The connection will be part of the landscape. We'll have a path, or maybe a deck-to be determined.
